The oldest carpet in the world was accidentally discovered from a frozen grave at five thousand feet of the Altai mountains on the coffin of an Achaemenid king or state, and it was called knotted carpet. It is more than 2,500 years old. This carpet is knotted in the style of today's finely woven carpets and is currently kept in the Hermitage Museum of Russia.
