How to write a book? The dream of writing a book has always been a distant and unattainable dream for many people and they think it is impossible. Consider this interesting statistic: almost 80% of people have always dreamed of writing their own book, but only 0.1% of them actually make this dream a reality!

It is much easier to leave a task unfinished than to complete it. There have been many people who gave up in the middle of the road and stopped trying and writing; But how can we use our creativity to write a book and uncover this secret and start doing what we have always dreamed of? Many writers believe that there is no specific defined method for writing, because each writer uses his own unique method for this work. We have no objection to this but...

Almost every bestselling author has very effective writing patterns and habits that help him achieve his goal, and if you want to write a book, all you have to do is do what bestselling authors do!

Find the main idea of the book.

Definitely the first thing you need to write a book is an idea. If you don't have an idea, you can't even write a page!

Without a good idea, you can't go beyond the first page of the book!

If you know what you want to write before writing a book, then you must have an idea in your head, otherwise you are bound to fail. If you have no idea, perhaps answering a few questions can help you in this way:

● What do I want to write about?

What do you think is an important topic to write about?

● Who are the target audience of my story or the subject of my book?

What books are you interested in?

● Can I express the topics of this book in an effective way?

These questions will help you narrow down the different ideas in your mind and finally arrive at a single idea. You may have several ideas, but paying attention and focusing on the subject that you are interested in and master can be the best option.

If you had no idea? Check out the books you are interested in reading or the books that have had a significant impact on you. Most likely, writing books in this style is the best option for you.

Research the style and genre of your subject

After finding the main idea, the next step is to research the genre. If the book you want to write is in the category of your favorite books, your work at this stage is simple.

Studying different book styles

But if your chosen genre is different from your interests, you need to check some different books in the field of your chosen genre.

How many pages is the book?

● What are its main topics?

● How many seasons does it have?

Can it be written similarly?

● What is the thematic structure of the book?

● In what style is it written? (Book writing styles article)

● How many pages does it have?

● How many seasons does it have?

● What is the structure of the story?

What are its main themes?

And most importantly, can you write a book with these features?

Research what books people usually read.

practice writing

If you want to know how to write a book in the fastest time, change the targeting of words:

• 1500 to 2000 words per day

• 9000 to 15000 words per week

• 35,000 to 50,000 words per month

These figures are targeted based on the NaNowriMo competition. A contest in which participants wrote an average of 1,667 words per day to write a 50,000-word book (about 150-200 pages). It is hard work, but it is possible to finish writing a book in this short time. Thousands upon thousands of authors write a book within a year and this is a more reasonable time.

It is worth mentioning that every writer who participated in the NaNo competition mentions it as a difficult and exhausting experience. Most writers believe that this way of writing a book and having to spend more time writing every day is boring, maybe after finishing it you have to edit what you have written again.

If this is your first book, try to set an actionable goal for your word count and gradually increase it depending on your ability. We will discuss it more in the next point…
